gotchy
If one of the Gurus here would be kind enough to give a novice a step by step sequence of moves to reach the ordinate dimension mode for both X and Y axes it certainly would be appreciated.I am using Autocad version 2000 if it matters. I can use version 2007 if need be. Thank you kindly. Gotchy
ReMark
Have you looked in your Help file under the topic "Ordinate Dimension"? First you have to specify your datum, or as AutoCAD likes to refer to it, the "feature location". If you want your datum to be equal to 0.00,0.00 you would have to set your UCS origin. Attach a copy (not an image file) of the drawing to your next post.

ReMark
Why did you start a second post about the same topic? So, what's the problem? Start the UCS command and specify a new origin. Then use the Dim > Ordinate feature of the Dimension command to place your dimensions. I kind of find it odd that whoever did that drawing had 0.00,0.00 in the upper right hand corner and not in the lower left hand corner. Is that a standard practice? tzframpton
To build on top of ReMark's tip, after you place your first Ordinate Dimension, finish the command. Then, initiate the Dim Continue command, select the first dimension and keep placing them from there.
SLW210
Why did you create a second thread and why didn't you create them in the proper forum? Threads have been merged and moved to the AutoCAD 2D Drafting, Object Properties & Interface Forum.
