jsf343
I hope this is in the right section. Quick question for anyone that might have some thoughts on it, I am looking for more information on drafting in the sprinkler design field. It seems like an area in drafting that makes decent money, it seems interesting from the very little bit that I have seen, but there seems to be VERY LITTLE information on it, even here (where to learn more, what programs are used, where to get training, etc.). anybody do this kind of drafting or work for a company that does this? I appreciate ANY info. ahead of time! Thanks
Fire_col
I used to be a sprinkler design engineer for a company in Nottingham. It's not very well paid, training is usually provided by the company offering the position. Programs used will vary, but mostly will be AutoCAD and Revit. My advice would be to search out sprinkler companies and contact them directly, you may find that a lot of them use engineering design consultancies where knowledge of MEP allows hem to produce the drawings/models required. Hope this helps.
