acjam
When creating a hatched area, the rectangular areas around all the pre-existing text annotations are ignored and left blank, rather than being hatched. I've looked into text background masks and sending hatches to the back but this seems to make no difference. I can see plenty of topics where people ask for this to happen, but mine seems to have set itself this way by default and I need to switch it off somehow! Using Autocad 2015. rkmcswain
Select the existing hatch. In the Ribbon, on the Hatch Editor tab, on the Options pane, click the little down arrow (next to the word "Options") Change "Normal Island Detection" to "Ignore Island Detection" When creating future hatches, either turn off island detection or select the same option as described above. acjam
Okay - this seemed to have worked, but is now producing the same problem whether Ignore Island Detection is selected or not...
eldon
Why not freeze the text layer before you Hatch?
