MechanicalAnimal
Hi all! I have been toying around with the 3D environment in CAD 2015 and was just wondering if there is a library of some foliage. I'm looking to add a few trees to a scene I'm working on and can't seem to find any. Didn't there use to be a library that you could pull from for some general objects? I apologize but I haven't used 3D since about 2010 hahaha. Any help would be appreciated!
Cad64
I don't think you're going to have much luck finding foliage for AutoCAD. I have seen some trees around, like these: http://www.bibliocad.com/library/3d-tree_269, but that's about it. Maybe someone else knows of a good source for AutoCAD 3D trees? If you want to add plants to your renders, 3D Studio Max is a better option. You can find lots of plants for Max. Or, take your AutoCAD render into Photoshop and add trees and plants there. ReMark
You might find something useful here but be careful. 3D tree blocks can be quite large in some cases and adding a bunch of them to a drawing can swell the file size immensely. http://www.cadforum.cz/catalog_en/?cat=64&3D=3D&bpp=50 Some free 3D blocks available here as well although many will cost you. http://www.cadblocksfree.com/index.php?id=122 Edited May 21, 2015 by ReMark
Cad64
3D tree blocks can be quite large in some cases and adding a bunch of them to a drawing can swell the file size immensely. That's why programs like Studio Max are so much better for doing landscape renderings. You can add plants as proxy objects, enabling you to add thousands of trees without increasing file size or effecting system performance.
