Default Issues when working with wire frame models and extrude, loft, revolve commands...

Basically I'm new to AutoCAD and I'm teaching myself. I'v been using the "extrude" and "loft" command and I'm having a problem with a lack of "faces" maybe??? I think it could be an issue with "SurfTab1" & "SurfTab2" but I'm not sure as I can't seem to change it. The second .jpg below shows the lofted version of the circles, however as it clear from the image it lacks lines! haha. Anyway if anyway can point me in the right direction with this I'd be very greatful!!!

Oh sorry this is apparently how it is meant to appear (final image at bottom showing before and after lofting of a similar set of circles.)

i'm not aware of a LOFT command.... is that something new in AutoCAD 2007? anyways, i know in previous versions, the EXTRUDE and LOFT (i'm assuming is the same as REVOLVE) command has nothing to do with the SURFTAB1/SURFTAB2 variables because when you EXTRUDE something, it's a solid - not a mesh. if you want to mess with the wireframe mode for Solids, try the ISOLINES variable. 20 is a good number to start with... also, try FACETRES for smoother objects/wireframe, etc.

Ahhh I'v discovered it was as simple as typing the "hide" command after performing the commands. Oh and 2007 has a loft command.

The SURFTAB1 and SURFTAB2 variables apply only to surfaces and not to solids. For solids, look at the FACETRES variable if your solids are not smooth. Also, be aware that what you see (for example in wireline) is only a representation of the actual geometry and you will see it in all its glory when it is rendered.

Styk, LOFT is new in 2007. In fact, 3D in 2007 is ENTIRELY different to what it was in previous versions.

yeah, i'd love to get my hands on a copy. at my job, we use blocks CONSTANTLY and i would love to have even AutoCAD 2006 for Dynamic Block capabilities.... im gonna hit them up for AutoCAD 2008 when/if it arrives... haha

not much 3D work over here, but fun to have on my laptop so i can do it in my spare time.
