squareknees
I have not been here in along time but I am looking to create a dynamic block with text that stays in the middle when the line stretches. the text will stay the same but I need it to be centered on the line no matter how long the line gets. I have searched and found a few similar questions posted on forums, but I can't even decipher how they made those work. This seems to be so simple that it is not obvious to me how to do it. BIGAL
A dim style can do this with arrows etc all turned off no need for a dynamic block. The defualt is normally text at middle pt.
dbroada
you can move the text at the same time as your line is stretched using another stretch (or move) action with a 0.5 multiplication factor.
squareknees
The block that I am creating is a grain direction block. it has 1/2 arrows on either end and I was using it without the word grain attached to it. I just realized that keeping the word associated with the block would make it so I would not have to go back and add the word later. I did get it figured out by stretching the mtext points. dbroada, how do you add the multiplication factor? I can't figure that one out. Thanks
dbroada
I no longer have access to AutoCAD so can't look but highlight the action that you have attached the text to and use the properties palette. There are a number of options there concerning direction and multiplication. Have a play around there.
squareknees
Thanks a ton I didn't even think to look in the standard properties box.
