enthralled
Hi, I have the following plan showing 3 roads (yellow, red and cyan) and a pipe line (magenta): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6Xql6Q_IBP-Rlp2em1aRWNSWnM/view?usp=sharing I need to create a section at each green line, showing where the roads and pipeline are crossing (with their respective colors), as follows: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6Xql6Q_IBP-QWppZWFyUDBRZTg/view?usp=sharing Any easy way to do this? Thanks
ReMark
Aren't you missing something? Wouldn't a section cut through a road show such features as the crown of the road, the pitch of the road, the curb, and what the land on either side of the road is doing (sloped, flat, irregular)? And wouldn't the pipe, in section, be shown as a circle? Is this strictly a 2D drawing you are working with? And is this all being done in plain AutoCAD? enthralled
I do profiles of natural ground using civil3d, and I can specify stations (by inserting PI) at each alignment (green line) on plan view, which will appear as straight line in profile view. problem with this is all stations I make will have the same color, and it's hard to differentiate each road by color in profile view. I can currently get this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6Xql6Q_IBP-ZUl3RXFsUEFOYkE/view?usp=sharing I need something like this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6Xql6Q_IBP-dkN2RFlhMEhvOEE/view?usp=sharing
BIGAL
Why not save your profile views to a layout you can put a name on each then. I have 12 roads layout & long, then cross sections = 88 layouts. The name is on the bottom of the title block.

I've moved to a different software package now and it would be very easy to do this in that so I'd be surprised if this isn't also possible in Civil 3D somehow. What software package has this?
