Change dim-style, Tolerance will be lost

Hello guys

 

when I change a dimension [attach tolerance] Styles to another Dimension Styles, that ,Tolerance will be lost .Why ? how fix this ?

Because the Tolerance is defined on the Tolerance Tab when defining a Dimension Style.

If you change a given dimension from one style to another dimension style, it will assume all of the properties defined in the newly assigned dimension style.

If you look at the screenshot, you will see that in a default Autcad dimension style (although the screenshot is from Autocad with the ProSteel add in) there are no defined Tolerance Values.

Unless the dimension style to which you wish to change already includes Tolerance definitions on the Tolerance tab, none will be shown, regardless of whether or not they were in the original dimension style, which you are changing.

In order to display the Tolerances, as in the other dimension style, upon changing the dimstyle, you will need to define the Tolerance settings in the new dimstyle first.

That's mean , Cant' change dim-style ?

Different dim, tolerance certainly not the same.

Sometimes. Drawings will be shared among colleagues .

you copied drawing from colleagues. That ,dimension style is not uniform ...

If you HOPE to include TOLERANCE information, then you must make sure that the dimension style which you plan to use, has been set up to display TOLERANCES.

Another way to affect the Tolerance display, selectively, would be by using your Properties, or Quick Properties (as shown with QPs) in the screenshot.

The left hand dimension was copied, they are both the same dimension style, but on the right dimension I have turned off the TOLERANCE display, as highlighted in yellow in my quick properties palette.

What ever dimstyle you have in the drawing will be there, if you want several dimstyles with tolerances, you have to create them.

 

If you change a dimension to use a dimstyle with no tolerances set up, that dim will not have tolerances.

 

Dimstyles are always uniform, if the dimensions using that style are not uniform, then, as shown by Dadgad, they have been manually overridden.

 

If you mean that you and your colleagues are each using different dimstyles, that is a problem with your standards. You need to determine what style(s) you want to use and when to use them.
