How to release a part in an assembly from being fixed.

I have a simple assembly that I made to try a principle. It is comprised of a base, with a fulcrum attached, attached to the fulcrum is a lever, which is also attached to a moveable round shaft in the center of the base which is in a hole. I am attempting to lift the end of the lever to see how the shaft moves in the hole so that I can determine the shape of the slot that is needed surrounding the pivot between the shaft and the lever. Right clicking on the lever does not give me the option to release the lever from being fixed.

Try right clicking on the parts in the tree. There should be an icon to make the parts that need move flexible.

Correct. But it wouldn't have that if it was fully constrained. If the part has the (f) next to it, float the part and then use constraints.

If the op is still around, maybe he can post the part so we can see what needs to be done.

There is a mate keeping you from moving the lever.

(f) means Fixed

(-) not fully constrained) - you can move it in at LEAST on axis

The lack of anything before the name means fully constrained (ie:unmovable)

Suppress mates on the lever one at a time until you find the culprit...
