Default Punching a Hole in the side of a plate

Is there a simple way to put a Hole in using something similar to the Placement "From Hole"?
I tried to use Linear, but I don't have a straight edge, and when I select the center hole it automatically switches to Concentric.
The way I end up doing it is sketching a circle and extruding it through, or placing a point and putting the hole on the point.
Either way I have to create a sketch.

Sketch on the face first and then use a point dimensioned to the location you want. Then when you start the Hold command it will allow you to use the From Sketch option.

I'm quite an old school fan of placing holes with sketch points and never really used the hole placement tool if thou it has been around many years now.
USING AUTOCAD 2016 AND INVENTOR 2016, ALIAS 2016 SHOWCASE 2016.

If in doubt scale and don't ask!
