Autocad 2004 Problem

Brewbrae

Recommended Posts

I have reinstalled my AutoCAD 2004 program running on Windows XP.

It is working fine, but some specific commands eg. PROPERTIES, MATCH PROPERTIES and one or two others are not being recognised.

Can this be sorted in the program settings?

Thanks

What method(s) are you using to start the commands?

What is shown on the commandline when you try to use one of those commands?

Try resetting your profile in Options.

Also, when you fire up AutoCAD 2004 from scratch, press F2 and review the command line history.

Are there any error messages? Anything that would indicate something out of wack?

Sounds like maybe some support files are not loading.

Thanks for your post. The command line says "unknown command-press F1 for help". this happens with both a toolbar command or typed command.

Hi, Demandload was already set to 3.

If it gives any clue the commands not working are: PROPERTIES, MATCHPROPERTIES, ADCENTRE, TOOLPALETTES, +DSETTINGS (snap), RECTANGLE, REVCLOUD, LAYERP.

Thanks

I don't have access to 2004 any longer but that sounds like a startup file (acad2004.lsp, or acad2004doc.lsp) isn't be loaded. Hence my earlier question about any abnormalities at startup......

Maybe look in Options, Files, Support File Search Path and copy and paste that so we can look at it.

I assume you have tried:

1 Restarting AutoCAD,

2 Starting AutoCAD with a different profile,

3 Tried a different Windows profile to start with,

4 Ran the repair option for AutoCAD?

Try (load "acad.mnl") on the commandline.

I have reloaded the programme from scratch and it appears to be functioning fully now.

Thanks to all contributors for their help.
