Copy Tube & Pipe Run

I followed this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcJ8Dczw538

im trying to create a unique copy of a pipe run , so when i change the copy it will not reflect in the original run .

few problems:

1) im unable to use constraint for the copied run (in the video it acts differently)

2) how do i create a proper run , whn i say proper i mean that after ive populated the route i don't want that situation like in the picture happens and i dont know how to come back to "normal" . im taking a route from one fitting and create the path by adding segment , turning left right etc... then if i want to change a segment (not created by auto route) i type a different length . and then then the run going out from the path ..Angle.jpg

it seems like i don't know the correct flow , especially when i need to do changes .

any help is well appreciated

Are you not constraining to planes or adding additional control dimensions or constraints in your route. I honestly don't have much time to go over the intricacies of the 3D Ortho routing tool but this is something I cover in my standard tube and pipe class. There is also a self paced book for this available from Ascent if you really want to dig in more and avoid random questions in a CAD forum.
