Purge dialog box open by lisp

Why cant I open PURGE dialog box using following code.

(command "PURGE" "")

had to look it up

Although the use of initcommandversion may work, I think this is more appropriate:

(initdia)
(command "_.purge")

you're right Lee , I couldn't remember where I used it last but suddenly I remembered I used it in my RlxIso routine when I was to lazy / smart enough not to invent the wheel again and use the power of autocad to work for me and use it's own functions for me
