RobDraw
Time for some fun. Most things in AutoCAD can be accomplished in a multitude of ways. Let's see how many we can come up with. Let's start with moving an object: Ribbon - Home Tab, Modify Panel, Move Keyboard - "M", enter Mouse - Right Click Menu, Move Mouse - With object selected, Right Button Press and Drag Edited September 18, 2015 by RobDraw Wrong Button
steven-g
with objects selected, click on one of the grips to make it hot, and then hit space bar once. I even have macro's setup just for moving a specified distance, (25mm, used for laying out pieces for the cnc, up down left right plus 4 diagonals)
Squirltech
Mouse - Select object. Hold right click and drag. When released, menu select MOVE HERE (Most useful when accuracy isn't desired)
RobDraw
Mouse - Select object. Hold right click and drag. When released, menu select MOVE HERE (Most useful when accuracy isn't desired) I had that one but mis-typed it in my OP. I originally said left click. There is also the new nudge feature for when accuracy is not a concern. With the object selected, CTRL+arrow buttons.
ROBP
If object is a line then use offset command and then erase the original one
rkent
Use stretch but include the whole object. Block edit, add a move parameter, after that click and drag. Nudge with accuracy, turn on snap first (no osnap but snap.) Use mirror with out copying.
ROBP
Put all the command lines and data in excel then change a few numbers for the new position and then copy the command lines and paste it in cad one click and the object will be in at it's new coordinates
tzframpton
Nudge with accuracy, turn on snap first (no osnap but snap.)I was going to mention this - for those of you who do not know what Nudge is, select the object, and Ctrl+Arrow Keys to "nudge" an object. I believe Ctrl+Shift+Arrow Keys works too with a larger distance, but I'm multifaceted with platforms so that may not be true for AutoCAD.
