Do you mean textures on the rendered images?
After you assign a texture you must use the RENDER command and you will get a raster image on your screen or in a specified file. Is this what yoy wish?
It's nice to be nice, but sometimes is nicer to be evil!

Yeh what I mean is that if I have drawn a cube I would like to add different textures to each face of the cube. How do I do that? How do I assign texture to a particular face of the cube.

assigning multiple materials to a solid in autocad is not possible (unless im wrong), the way i do it is to explode your solid into individual faces then aplly the materials to the individual faces, but bear in mind that doing this destroys the solid "cube" and simple creates 6 faces, so you loose all the functions that you can do like subtract and union ect.

Thanks for clearing that up. What I'm trying to do is to model this building. I have taken a digital photo for each of the 4 faces of
building. I have drawn the building and now I need to attatch the correct image with the corrct side, simple as that. Its just that I have never used autocad before and have spent alot of time trying to work out how to attatch textures to surfaces. How do you assign materials to a particular surface?

once you have exploded your solid cube you are left with 6 faces, each of these can have a material assigned seperatly by opening the materials dialogue box and clicking a material in the material list on the left hand side the clicking the "attach" Button, you then pick the face you want the material assigned too, if you have no materials in you left hand list you can create new materials by clicking the "new" button and choosing the picture / colour you need for your material. then its a matter of adjusting the mapping settings to fit the material to you building

Yedan, hold on the Ctrl key to assign materials to individual faces in AutoCAD 2007. Yes it can be done! ...but not for the previous releases... sorry 3dvdt...
