TheCADnoob
Not sure if this has been encountered yet, but was a big problem for me with some recent stuff i was doing. Basically my graphics card could not handle some of the updated graphics handling in AutoCAD 2015 and 2016. I don't currently worth with those releases so i figured by the time i used those in production the issue might have been addressed. Part of my new workflow utilizes TrueView and it has the same issue. I found the solution's to both if anyone else ever experiences the problem. In 2015 you have to turn SMOOTHING to OFF In 2016 you have to turn HQGEOM to 0 and then LINESMOOTHING to off In True View the command line is disabled so in the bottom right there is a graphics icon you can click on and turn off line smoothing. davefranco
Issue: When you open an older drawing file in AutoCAD 2015 or later, the drawing displays unwanted linework that cannot be selected or erased. The linework appears to be randomly displayed. The following graphics cards have been reported to encounter this behavior: AMD ATI Radeon HD 3400 series (with 256 MB of RAM) AMD ATI FirePro 2260 AMD ATI FirePro V3700 AMD ATI Radeon HD 4250 The issue is not exclusive to these cards. Solution: To remove the unwanted linework display: Set the LINESMOOTHING system variable to OFF, or Enter 3DCONFIG at the command line and switch Hardware Acceleration OFF. To turn off LINESMOOTHING in AutoCAD 2016: First, set the HQGEOM system variable (High Quality Geometry) to 0. Then set LINESMOOTHING to OFF.
