miroslav_s
Hi, I just draw a couple of walls. They are all standard walls as shown here http://prntscr.com/9n9xwc . Now, since it is standard wall style I would like to change it to a concrete wall style, and I found the style called “Concrete-250 concrete 650 x 250 footing”. Since it is basement level this is perfect wall style for me. The problem starts when I choose to change from standard style to concrete 250 concrete 650x250 footing. the wall is showing up fine but is there some trick to get the footing to show up in plan (or elevation or 3d)? The footing is not showing under the wall. Why is that? http://prntscr.com/9nadp9 I hope I gave you enough info regarding my problem. Thanks ina advance. RobDraw
Yeah, except your post should probably be in the Architectural forum.
miroslav_s
Hi, sorry about that, can you move it to the "right" forum so I can get the help I need? Thanks in advance Yeah, except your post should probably be in the Architectural forum.
danellis
The footing is probably set up to be below the bottom of the wall (makes sense, when you think about it), so you need to give the wall's floor level a negative offset: Select the wall with your mouse, and right-click. The fourth section down includes an option "Roof/Floor Line" go into this and clock "Modify floor line." Hopefully the attachment's worked and there's a screen grab of exactly where to find it! Choose offset and ACA will ask for a value. Enter the depth of your footing, ensuring it's a negative value so autoCAD knows to offset downward (I'm guessing you want -250) HTH dJE

The next time I choose to draw the same wall style from the Tool Paletties DESIGN the footing is not showing under the wall http://prntscr.com/9nh6nw . Then I tried one new thing: I choose the wall style I want from Design Tool Catalog and instead of dropping it into the drawing I place it first in Tool Paletties WALL tab and now every time I draw the wall the footing is shown http://prntscr.com/9nh84t I don´t understand why but now at least it´s working. THANKS danellis for answering my question. Tried even your solution and it worked http://prntscr.com/9nhgz1 Best regards to you Miro Edited January 8, 2016 by miroslav_s
