mcraig
Does anyone know of a way to create aother shape besides a rectangle to insert the mtext into??
rkent
With the mtext existing already, use the express tools command TCIRCLE. Watch the command line for options for circle, slot, rectangle. Is that what you were after?
mcraig
No, I'm talking about the drag box u make when u first add mtxt. Instead of dragging a rectangle, I'm curious if you can make a custom shape,
RobDraw
No, but there is probably another way to accomplish whatever it is that you are trying to do.
Dadgad
Welcome to CADTutor. I am curious why the shape of the window (which is merely for placement, and subsequently unseen) would matter? The express tool that rkent suggested works pretty well. While viewports can be clipped and defined by random shapes, windows in AutoCad are always rectilinear, with the exception of the Lasso selection tool. The use of a rectangular format is efficient, because it can be defined by only 2 clicks.
rkent
There is ARCTEXT that lets you create text in a circular shape. Beyond that you will need an add on lisp routine.
