autocad countersink

Hello, i am using autocad 2017, and i need to create a countersink. I would like to know if it is possible in autocad 2017, i couldn't find the tools that would allow me to do so. I tried chamfering but it is not giving the desired results.

The holes where i need countersinks are the holes in the middle.

Do i need to acquire inventor or another autodesk program designed for this purpose. Thank you.

Chamfer should do it, are you watching the command line as you chamfer?

Can you post the actual .dwg file?

Yes i can

My aim is to make a very particular countersink with a specific angle and a specific length. Can it be done with this level of precision?

Thank you

You could always create a half profile of what you need, revolve it then subtract from your 3D model.

Welcome to CADTutor. :)

As per SLW and ReMark, there are different ways it can be done, and yes, you can definitely do it with Autocad.

John: A quick example (entirely a figment of my imagination of course). I think you are smart enough to grasp the concept.

Making progress. Good. :)

Your nice succinct visual clues seem to have done the trick.

Well done John, welcome to the world of 3D Modeling.

That link is to one of the tutorials on the Tutorials page, one which would likely be of interest to you.

Don't give up on it, watch it all the way through, you will be glad you did.
