Hello

We have a computer lab (40 PC) training for AutoCAD, we want to add training to computer-aided engineering (CAE)

What isbetter program in terms of price

Solid Edge

SolidWorks

Inventor

I do not think that these programs are different, Especially When used to training in college

I heard about this

But even AutoCAD we could not get it for free.

You may be talking about Students copy (without ploting), but we do not get This plan.

We only got a few copies of inventor for free.

There are many AutoDesk programs, including plain AutoCAD, available, for FREE to students and educators via the Educational Community. ALL programs are FULLY functional, that includes the ability to print. No features are disabled. Anyone saying something to the contrary is feeding you misinformation and shouldn't be listened to..

The same thing can be said for Solidworks. Dassault Systemes and AutoDesk have created these kinds of opportunities for students and educators hoping that by doing so they will gain new users who will buy their products for commercial use.

Where are you located?

Remark when I worked for a Autocad reseller many years ago, the Education version to schools was not free ! It was heavily discounted. Yes all programs were fully functional. It appears different now.

Maybe it has something to do with the country one lives in? I don't know. However, here in the U.S. AutoDESK programs are free to the educational community.

Refer to this link...http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/all

I visited the website just moments ago and saw this...

Regarding Solid Edge. There is a free version for students as well although it comes with a couple of restrictions.

Regarding SolidWorks. Seems Dassault Systemes has made a change. I'm almost positive that at one time it was free to students but now it seems one must pay. It is a 12 month term of use too.

Maybe you should have first thought about what you were going to say before you said it when you contacted each software maker.

Are you, in fact, a student at a college? And what do you need one of these programs for specifically? What are you attempting to draw/design?

Thanks for the suggestion

Actually we want to add that we do not have specific conditions (flexible).

At first we focus on simple products, such as vise English Key gears.

We also want that the student sees the design By using 3D printers

Are you in fact a student at a college? If so which college might that be?

It sounds as though you are creating mechanical type drawings. Is that correct?

Have you looked at Fusion 360? It too is free to a select category of people.
