Hatching a block

Hi Guys,

So I have a block which consist of 2 desks, & 2 chairs. I want to shade the 2 desks blue. When I click on hatch CAD asks for the internal points I then get a box saying a closed boundary could not be determined. Can anyone advise how I put a colour in a desk whilst keeping the drawing as a block?. Btw if I explode the block I am able to add a colour to the desk no problem......

Big thanks

Please attach a copy of the drawing to your next post. I duplicated (I think) your block description in a test drawing and I was able to apply a hatch pattern to the two desks and ignore the chairs despite the fact all were part of the same block. Of course this means that the hatch patterns are not part of the block. Move the block and it is possible to leave the hatches behind.

Example: Objects above red line are part of the original block before applying a solid hatch.
