Hi everybody

Does anyone have experience in read and write object data to SQL Server? Is the data transfer rate and regeneration drawings is good? I heard that with FDO in Autodesk map it can be done. Data is written in the Geodatabase format. Is FDO can be used in AutoCAD? Is there a similar Geodatabase format in AutoCAD?

thanks,

Hi Alex,

Are you wishing to do export objectdata from AutoCAD Map or just AutoCAD?

Another option that may be worth exploring is FME (see http://www.safe.com.au) You can download a trial but the software is expensive. Could be a like using a jack hammer to crack a walnut.

It can load, convert and write hundreds of formats including AutoCAD MAP and SQL Server.

Have a look at ADO_LISP It is free nut has not been updated for some time.

I have used that in the past for reading and writing to oracle databases and access databases.
