Dynamic block with stretch action

Has anyone experimented with dynamic blocks? Im trying to convert a bunch of the elements of my drawings into dynamic blocks but im having some trouble.

Specifically im having trouble understanding the stretch action. I have a notes section with a RECTANG around it. I attached a linear parameter from left to right, set it to display only one grip, set my Dist Type to List and added about ten values. The stretch works fine when extending to the right but wont let me stretch my objects back to the left. How can i accomplish this?

I basically want to be able to stretch this box as far as i want in the X and negative Y directions to resize it on the fly.

keep both grips. try that....

and set 2 sets of strech actions, one for either side.
