tom111
Hi, I am carrying out a project which involves drawing a roof to take-off areas of faces. The roof is as attached. I am very used to the AutoCAD LT environment, but because this structure has such a complicated geometry, in order to generate useful areas, I will need to use a 3D model. Can anyone recommended any videos guides on carrying out such a task as this? A general steer on how to accomplish this would be appreciated. rkent
If you have the dimensions to create that in 3D then you have everything you need to draw the pieces in 2D, basically an auxiliary view. No need to create in 3D unless you just want to. You wouldn't have to draw each one, just one of each that are the same and only one side of each. tom111
Unfortunately the roof isn't readily accessible so I don't have access to a lot of measurements to enable me to draw up.
rkent
You have no dimensions, just that image! I don't see how you could be expected to draw/model that with any sort of accuracy.
tom111
I should have been clearer. I have some dimensions obtained from a scaffold but this was only from the elevation. I have an as-built plan of the roof from above also. I have plans of the floor levels beneath.
