Xref Unselectable?

How do i make an xref unselectable on the screen so im not selecting it by accident? (AC2007)

If you go to the layer dialogue box you'll see a little padlock by the side of each layer (along with on/off, freeze/thaw etc). If you change your XREF onto a new layer say 'XREF1' then click the padlock shut for 'XREF1' then you'll not be able to select the XREF(s) on that layer, easy. Note, all locked layers will highlight when selected, but you'll not be able to edit/move them etc. Trust that's what you wanted
