herguth1
I'm in AutoCAD 17. I'm building a simple 3D model. I want to draw a polyline using points on a solid object, prism. The UCS is set to the correct plane. I initiate the pline command. As soon as I pick my starting point the UCS icon jumps to that point and assumes the "world" orientation. What's going on? rkent
Maybe try turning Dynamic UCS (DUCS) to off. There is an icon at the bottom for DUCS, looks like a UCS but with a tiny lightning bolt on one leg. It was so much easier when we could have letters instead of icons down there. I believe F6 will toggle it on and off.
herguth1
Thanks, apparently the F6 key ables and disables it. I must have inadvertently hit the key to enable it. I agree, it used to be a lot easier.
