Layer per Visibility

I was wondering if it's at all possible to change objects layer depending on what visibility it is.

For example, visibility1 has attribute1 within octagon, and attribute2 on top. All on layer 0.

can visibility2 change attribute1 and octagon to a non printable layer while leaving attribute2 alone?

i don't want to hide it because i won't be able to access attribute1 within the prompt menu.

I just got an idea this very second, not a great idea, but maybe it can work if my first question can't be done... make the visibility just for a wipeout that would cover the Octagon, the not so great part it that i'd have to send all to the back and hope it doesn't great visual issues on the plans.

if anybody has a better suggestion i'm open for ideas.

Thanks.
