F8/Ortho Quirk

Hi Guys (and Gals),

Hope I am posting this thread in the right place, (Moderators please feel free to move to correct location)

I've been having some problems lately with the F8 key/toggle. Here's an example...

If I'm in the Middle of a command, lets say copying an object, and I have ortho Off

and I now want to engage or turn On Ortho with the F8 toggle CAD freezes up on me, I have to reduce the CAD window or click on something like windows media player or internet explorer etc. for it to function again.

Same problem (but in reverse) if I have Ortho On and I hit the F8 key in the Middle of a command to turn it Off, it will just freeze/bog down, it doesn't Crash (thankfully).

Here's another thing, if in the middle of a command like copy or move with ortho either On or Off, if I click the Ortho Icon I Do Not have any of the problems I mentioned above?

As usual with CAD its probably some little thing or setting that is probably causing this but I cant seem to be able to resolve this issue.

I rely on that F8 key quite a bit that it is slowing me down if I have to click on the icon to Engage or Dis-engage Ortho.

I appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you Rob, I was wondering if I'd set up my preferences in some unusual way. TEMPOVERRIDES set to 0 seems to have fixed this issue, per your thread link. Thanks again and Cheers!
