Default 2006 command line reverting to 2004, anyone else??

On 2006, one of the 'updated' features from 04 was that the command line is at the cursor point instead of (or maybe as well as) at the bottom, and also not having to put the '@' symbol when defining the size of a square for example. Quite a few times AutoCAD seems to revert back to the 04 method with no reason/explanation, resulting in me having to re-install the whole of AutoCAD to get it back..Is there a setting that somehow turns itself on (or off) that would disable it?? Getting frustrating now at having to reinstall every month, please help!

No need to reinstall. Look up DYNMODE and the other DYN* variables in HELP.
