dynamic block question

Is there a way to fix an attribute so that it will always read nonrotated, even if the attribute is part of a group of items that is rotated in a block?

other than making the center of the rotation the center of the text, that is.

In other words, I have a block where the attribute is not at the center of the rotation. I want the location of the text to move relative to the rest of the block when I rotate the block, but I don't want the text itself to rotate. (like a gyroscope, it always stay straight up and down.)

Edit:

To answer my own question, I put a second rotation parameter on the text to rotate it back. it's not automatic, but it works.
