i am trynig to stretch a block of a double door but cannot get both doors to stretch uniformally, help please:cry:

its also a help if you post your block. Firstly we might see a simple step you have missed out and secondly, it shows that you are trying to learn and not get somebody to do it for you.

(I don't think you are but a quick look around will show many "please do my homework" threads.)

oh, you have arcs. Not easy! I'm not sure if anybody has found a way yet to get arcs to behave sensibly when stretching. You may have to find a way of scaling them.

i can sort it fine on a single door by using the scale action on the arc but even when i try to 'marry' two single blocks together i cannot get the stretch action to perform with one grip

i am almost there, i think. I constructed the two door swings using one arced polyline and tried it from there. The stretch function works but the arcs do not stretch in the same relation to the doors.

i have attached the drawing as it is thus far to show where i am with it (i am using autocad 2008 for this)

if nobody comes along I'll look at where you are on Monday. I don't have access to AutoCAD until I get to work.

thats great, much appreciated, i'll keep pulling my hair out.

It isn't of vital importance but it is a major niggle i can't let go off

have a look at this.

take it slowly. I stretch the doors up and move them apart on the distance parameter. That way the door doesn't increase in thickness as you make it longer.

then I added the arcs and scaled each one with its own scale action

it doesn't matter how many actions you have for each parameter.

thats exactly what i was hoping to acheive with the double door block dave, thanks for your help. You have got the distance multipliers and the angle offsets in the right combination, that is were i was making the mistakes.

Once again, thanks.
