Insert Excel file to Cad

Hi all,

I have problem inserting Excel file to Cad.

After I insert a file from Excel to Cad, I am not getting the hole page.

9 columns I can get to my Cad file only .

What I should do to solve this problem ?

Please if anyone can help.

I have had the same problem.. there is alimit to how big the fiel can be. At least in 2000i this is what the help file says:

Issue

You paste a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet into AutoCAD, however, the spreadsheet is truncated.

Solution

When an Excel spreadsheet is pasted into AutoCAD, only the Picture (metafile) format is used, which can result in the spreadsheet being truncated. This normally occurs when the column width and row height in Excel are set to the default (default width is 8.43, and default height is 12.75), and the pasted object exceeds 18 columns and 70 rows.

Use one or both of these methods to resolve the problem:

Method #1

In Excel, reduce the column width and row height. You can paste more of the spreadsheet if you reduce the column width and row height.

Method #2

Paste the spreadsheet in separate parts. By pasting the spreadsheet in separate parts you can break it down into several smaller OLE objects.

Aww, I was gonna guess that solution. I don't know CAD, yet, but I'm familiar with Excel and how it plays with others (i.e., that's typical Excel) Hah, but I'm too late.

What version of AutoCAD are you using? In the past inserting an OLE object was about all one could do without resorting to third-party software. With newer releases of AutoCAD (2008 and higher) one can use DataLinking. Note: the large the Excel file size the more difficult it becomes to do this successfully. Nine columns (how many rows?) doesn't sound unreasonable.
