Bishop Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Okay, got a problem here. My YZ plane is no longer located at X=0. If you look at the attached .JPG, the centerpoint of the circle is at 0 on the X and Z axes, and +6 or so on the Y axis. The bottom of the ladder frame is at Y=0. How do I get the YZ plane back to X=0? Quote
shift1313 Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Its not possible. The Origin planes and axis are stationary and all intersect at the origin point. Did you create another plane or autosize? Can you post a screen shot with all 3 planes visible? Quote
Bishop Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 The yellow is an extrusion surface at X=0 that I set up so I could generate a new sketch there ... but you can see where the regular planes are at, too. Quote

Is that a single part (ipt) file? If so, I would greatly suggest creating your components in separate part files and using an assembly file, (iam) to bring everything together. It will cut down on the number of offset planes you need to create... KC Quote
Bishop Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 Yeah, it's a single IPT. I'm not worried about creating a few offset planes on this - it's more just so I have something to route a pipe out of than for any other reason - but I'm just wondering why my YZ plane is no longer at X=0, and how to get it back in that case. shift1313 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I do not believe you can move the standar planes. When you were sketching these different features, were you working off the origin point? Are your sketches fully defined or are they still green? From your original image it looks as if its in the place you specified just with the frame flipped around like your looking at it upside down now. When creating planes, you can right click on them and redefine them, this is not possible with the Origin planes, axis or center point. Quote
