I have copied and pasted a window as a block.

Then I try to draw a hatch (horizontal lines) around the window over the entire wall out to it's boundaries, which are lines.

CAD finds the outside boundaries of the walls, but draws the hatch through and behind the window. If I explode the window block, it does the same thing.

If I expode the block and trace over the windows outside lines with new lines, it does the same thing.

Tried all draw order settings for the hatch with no luck.

Am I not able to hatch around blocks?

Thanks

Gus

Short answer is YES... you can hatch around blocks.

You can either hatch by point, or you can select the inner and outer boundaries.

If you pick by point, depending on your block's configuration, your hatch may result in some unwanted behavior inside of you block. :(

In your case it sounds like selecting a closed polyline (outlining the window block) as your inner boundary, along with your outer boundary (wall limits?), would be the best solution. :)

Hope this helps!
