timber0000 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Is it possible to specify that only SELECTED ENTITIES are exploded when a block is inserted into a drawing? It appears that the only options are to explode everything or nothing. I have a dynamic block that needs to have a viewport built into it. The only way to get the viewport to function is if the block is exploded, which breaks the dynamic features and the attributes of the block. Perhaps I'm making this more difficult than it needs to be. If you have any other suggestions as to how this could be achieved, please let me know. Thanks, Kent Edited September 1, 2010 by timber0000 Quote
BlackBox Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Just curious... if you do this often, why not have a second, non-dynamic block? Quote

RobDraw Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 If dynamic blocks can be nested in another block, you could make your dynamic block then make another block with the dynamic block and your viewport. Then you could explode that block after inserting it and get your viewport and your dynamic block. Quote
timber0000 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 So far, I am completely unable to save a viewport as a block and have it function as a viewport once inserted into a drawing. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I can't even get that far. Kent Quote
BlackBox Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Kent, would you please post a sample drawing which contains everything just the way you'd like it? We might be able to offer you better help, by looking at an example what you want. Quote
timber0000 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Thanks for all your input. I was finally able to make this work. Im not sure what I was doing wrong, but for some reason the viewport that I was saving wouldnt allow me to turn it on. Operator error for sure. At any rate, it is now working properly.
