ziemerd Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I have made changes to a block and I want to update the blocks in my drawing. I used the swap/replace and it works but the base point is changed though I didn't change the base point. The new base point is now where the old block was and the new block is located a ways above where the old block was and the old block is gone. I used BEDIT to see if I could make changes to the updated block but it still acts like a block in the block editor. I tried using Insert Block but it inserts the old version of the block. Is there another way of updating blocks that retains the base point I gave it when I made it? Thanks. Dawn Quote
BlackBox Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 (Not sure if this works for Electrical?) If you blocks now have an insertion point separated from the block itself, try this... Draw a line from the insertion point of said block to somewhere else (pick a random point). Then use the ._refedit command, and select your block. Once you're able to edit the block reference, move the block line work to the first point of your line drawn earlier. Save the reference edit, and you're done. Hope this helps! Quote
ziemerd Posted September 2, 2010 Author Posted September 2, 2010 Thanks RenderMan. I think I'll just go back to using the DesignCenter instead. I use redefine to replace the old block with the updated version. I kind of like using swap/replace because it seems to have fewer steps but it doesn't seem to work the same as it did in AutoCAD 2008. Quote
