changing layer by typing layer name (string)

Hi,

I have written script to change to a layer and then print it.

The script uses USERI to change to a numeric layer.

The layer names are Mostly numbers, 001 002 003 etc.

but occasionally we get a different sized border and name the layer 003+BORDER.

When you try to change to the layer 003+BORDER it attempts a calculation.

Is there a way to change to a layer with a text in?

You can not store a string in a user or useri but will work with users1 etc

When i type in users1 or users, it says unknown cammond is this because i am on LT?
