OK, I hope that I can explain this well enough!

I am testing AutoCAD 2011, today I opened a file and tried to stretch a line's end point to a point perpendicular to the original point. Now, the problem is that this now makes the line perpendicular. What setting would change that behavior? I have changed nothing, but something that I have been doing for a long time is now behaving completely different!

example would be to draw 2 lines that are paralell. Select the line allowing you to see the grips, grab the grip of one of the ends. type in per then hit enter, select the other line. you should get a diagonal line, what I am getting is a line that is perpendicular to the stationary line.

I hope that I have explained this well enough to get some help, this was working "correctly" about an hour ago, I have absolutely no idea what has changed. please, no work arounds, I want to know what setting has changed and how to fix it!

Thank you to everyone!

This bug has been reported before, hopefully the service pack will fix it. The service pack is available for plain autocad now.

I am unsure what the problem would be in this case. You are telling it to take the endpoint on one line and connect it to another line perpendicular from the other end of the first line...

Or maybe I am just lost... ?

yes, taking the end point of one line and moving the end perpendicular to another line, what it is now doing is making the first line perpendicular to the second line

Up until now it has always worked by moving the end point perpendicular, it has recently changed!
