Vidiot Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Can someone please help. I'd like a program to auto generate blocks for me based on the attached file. The generic block is my template and the othere is what would be a finished product. It would be great if I could fill in a spead sheet and end up with a block. Thanx in advance for any help.Request for help.dwg Quote
BIGAL Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Do you really need it to be a block ? its pretty easy to do a 2 column table from excel then number of rows does not matter if you use a block then number of rows is a problem as you will need a block1 block2 block3 - block24 and so on. If your happy to do every block then search for "attributes" lots of stuff about updating from excel. Quote
Vidiot Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 (edited) I'm not sure I follow you. I want the blocks to be just as they are in the dwg. Complete with layer and attributes. They will end up being write blocked out to a library sorted by Manufactorer/Model# so they can be used in other drawing without having to look up the information again. I tried making it a while back but as soon as I started getting the dotted pairs figured out I got swamped with projects and just don't have the time to figure it out. I've not done much programming and feel like I've forgotten most of what I knew. Edited October 7, 2011 by Vidiot Quote
