nargothrond Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Hi there!! How are u??? So, i´m a sugar cane grower, I am planting with John deere Gps - AMS, export the rows that are in shape for 3d Cad Map, when I attempt to offset these lines, the following error appears: Can not offset line. I tried to "explode" and then join the lines, it did not work. I tried to simplify the design and still did not work. Do you have another solution? I am attaching an example of lines in DWG. Thanks in Advance. Best Regards! Teste map.dwg Edited July 1, 2019 by nargothrond The lisp worked! im closing this thread now. Quote
CyberAngel Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Those aren't lines, they're MPolygons. One solution, if you don't need too much precision, is to trace along those curves with a polyline. You can then offset the polyline. Quote
nargothrond Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 Thanks for the real fast reply Cyber! I forgot to mention that they were Mpolygons... And i need precision.. lol, i tryed that too, the thing is, each line is the path of the tractor traveled, and a line is not exactly equal to another line. I need that to harvester the next year. Thanks again Cyber! Quote
SLW210 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I believe you should of had the option when importing for "Import Polygons as Closed Polylines" at some point. You might try array or copy. Quote
nargothrond Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 Tks again for real fast Reply. I will atach the file with "Import Polygons as Closed Polylines", I thought it would work, but also did not work. I dont know Array command.... how it works? TKS! Teste map 2.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Array - it can be either rectangular or polar. You'd want rectangular. The user specifies the number of columns and rows and what any offset distance between objects would be. Quote
nargothrond Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 I´m trying the array command, but its very confusing... what i need is to enable the line / polyline to be done offset. Thanks !! Quote
ReMark Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 So you used the offset command and your problem was solved or not solved? Quote
nargothrond Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 Not Yet ReMark... I'm trying everything and so far without success... These lines created by the GPS are not working to apply the offset, I've done almost everything, I do not know what is happening with these lines! So, Thanks you for your time.... Quote
eldon Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 If you zoom in, some of your lines are not simple. There is a lot of editing to do to get to a single open polyline which will offset! Possibly start with explode, then Overkill before joining polylines. Quote
rickh Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 You can use Flatten command and then offset. But, at least in my testing, flatten seems to work with the screen resolution somehow... so zoomed in it gives smoother lines than it does zoomed out. I don't know if this is good enough, but it's something to try... Quote
nargothrond Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Hi There.. i will make it more simple... I need offset this line, do you guys have any suggestion?? Thanks again! Obrigado!! Quote
nargothrond Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Sorry.. I forgot to add the line.. See ya! Teste simple polyline.dwg Quote
eldon Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Hi There.. i will make it more simple... I need offset this line, do you guys have any suggestion?? Yes. Explode it. Then delete duplicate objects. Then Pedit to join all remaining lines into a single open polyline. Then you can offset it Quote
nargothrond Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Thanks Eldon... i will try here.. See ya Quote
nargothrond Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Worked... thanks a lot guys.... problem solved. Quote
