My command line is saying "not recognized" for common commands

If I type in refedit, wipeout, match properties, properties and quite a few others my command line reads Not Recognized! I can't live withour these comands!

Not sure what I did, it happend yesterday and I was getting hit by all sides.

Added note: it doesn't seem to mater how I try to get to these commands i'm equally hosed if I use short cut, spelled out, on the ribbon, right click. . . . .access denied.

I still have use of line join edit etc.

I don't know if this is related but 2012 dosn't seem to remember settings like if you check the double click to edit in options save work space after the next day it is back like it was.

OPTION settings like double click to edit are not saved in your WORKSPACE setting, but rather in your PROFILE setting.

Check in your OPTIONS, on the PROFILES tab to see if the PROFILE which you would expect to, or normally use, is SET CURRENT.

It is also a good idea to enter SYSVDLG at the commandline, and SAVE a .svf which will contain all current SYSTEM VARIABLE SETTINGS, which enable you to restore your preferences should they ever get screwed up.

Try going to your SYSVDLG box and click READ, which will restore the default system variable settings to your system.

Perhaps you might want to try the REPAIR option before the REINSTALL option, if it comes to that.

CAD 64; You made . . me cry . . when you said . . reinstall . . that woulda been a shame . . my tears fell like rain . .

Sorry, I'm being silly. It's to a combination of it being half day Friday, WAY to much caffeine, and my sudden blossoming love of SLW210's mad, crazy, CAD skills! DEMANDLOAD=3 WORKED!!!!!

I checked out your profile SLW. It cracked me up, you’ll love my planes for the weekend; I'm going up to the cabin this afternoon, were going to spend the weekend 4-wheeling, and my friend is bringing his boat so we can go slay some salmon. You ever get to Alaska, your invited to come along. I’ll take ya where the big fish live. Whether you catch one, will be up to you!o:) Really, I appreciate the way you keep pulling my butt out of the fire.

Dadgad; I think you are on to something with the profile set current. I have been consistently behind the 8-ball since they installed 2012. I have set up just what I need to get the job out the door. They know my computer is wacked out so I have bought myself some time to get everything set up.

Thanks to all three of you, once again CADtutor to the rescue.

I'm glad you got it sorted out without having to reinstall. I don't really use Autocad anymore, so I'm slowly losing my knowledge of the program. With all the problems you were listing, it sounded like you had major problems. Good thing SLW had the solution.

Have fun at the cabin this weekend. :)

Glad I could help.

Might go to Alaska next year, my step-son lives in/near Wasilla (he may have moved closer to Anchorage now).

CAD is definitly a use it or loose it knowledge thing. I was layed off for a while and when I started working again iit was like trying to start an old lawnmower. Id'e have to about pull my arm off to get my brain to cantch! :)

If you insist on me having fun, I guesse i'll have to capitulate. You have a good one too.

Check your desktop shortcut properties to make sure it's loading the proper profile, if any.
