Wow, there must be something in the water because I have had a few requests now in the last few days for this app.

Aye, larger drawing files, more detail on drawings, 3D - the list is endless and xrefs save a lot of processing, even though they can be a pain.

You get this app up and running and I'll let you have my sister's number (or my brother's, or both if you like)... well I would if I had any brothers or sisters... it's the thought that counts.o:)

Start a new forum "The X-Ref Men" - corny but cool; should go down a treat with the PR people at Autodesk Uni.

Incidentally, where's a good place to start if I want to get into Autolisp etc.? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

OK, for those of you waiting for an update, as I said previously, real life has taken hold at the moment, so I have had very little time to dedicate to this project. It is very close to a ready for release state, so I will cut back on further developments and will release an interim download shortly with all of the main features, and I will then plan to release a full download at some point in the future with the additional features that will add a little something to it.

I am really glad there is still interest in this, so thanks.

I will keep you posted.

Have a good 1 all.

I am wondering if I can get a copy of this. I have been looking everywhere for a utility that can do this! Any chance I can be added to the list?

You're not thinking about adding the "Xref rename & repath" function to this monster are you? If so it would be so AWSOME.

Yes, 1 big app to handle pretty much anything that you want with xrefs.

A quick run down of the features so far.

Search:

Select drawings

Select directories

search by name/path

search by keyword

search only overlay

search only attachment

search only dwg/dwf/dgn/images

DWG:

Repath

Rename

Unload

Reload

Detach

**Possibly bind**

**Possibly explode** (dependant on binding)

**Possibly specify xref layer**

DWF:

Repath

Rename

Unload

Reload

Detach

DGN:

Repath

Rename

Unload

Reload

Detach

Images:

Repath

Rename

Unload

Reload

Detach

Log file:

Save log of search results (including date, time and criteria)

Save log of action taken.

Settings:

Save settings (including File/Directory list, search criteria)

If any other feautres are desired, now is the time to request them.

As for beta testers, I will probably just upload a beta version here.

thanks.

LCE,

If you're going to do the binding thing, you might as well add in options to:

AUDIT,

PURGE ALL,

Detach unrefereced and/or unloaded Xref (I have a lisp that will do this)

:)

LCE,

Any luck on the app? Happy new year.

Happy new year.

Sorry, I posted a thread before christmas that I assumed most people would see, didn't want to go through each possible thread.

Here is the thread I posted. Basically, had an ext hard drive blow out which conveniently was the one with all my work on (litterally ALL my work) and I hadn't made a backup for a LONG time so to rewrite this app will take a fair bit of time, especially fitting it in with redoing a load of other work, so releasing it as a freebie just isn't feasible right now. I will keep you posted of any developments though.

Sorry again guys....

I'm sure I've got it somewhere; but I'm at work at the moment (I changed jobs recently) and don't have it with me at the moment.

I shall look around when I get home later.

I don't appear to have it anymore, I'm afraid :(
Oh well, thanks for looking anyway.

Does anyone else know of a solution?

I assume there is probably a way to do it on VBA...

Hi, I was also seeking help for this whole xref situation but it appears I am a year too late!

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
