AcDbZombieEntity?

Cad64

Recommended Posts

So I got an amusing error message today while trying to Refedit an xref.

The message at the command line read: AcDbZombieEntity objects cannot be edited in place.

After doing a little reading, I found out that Zombie Entities are what proxy objects used to be called in R13.

I'm not really sure how this relates to the xref I was trying to edit, but I had to laugh when I saw that message. I mean, come on, Zombie Entity.

So I opened the xref, ran an Audit and found 903 errors. :?

I deleted hundreds of layer filters and Purged 5 or 6 times to get rid of all the junk in the drawing. Reloaded the xref but still could not Refedit. I ended up just opening the xref and editing directly.

Has anyone else ever encountered these Zombie Entities? This was a first for me. :|

Found this explanation at the discussion forums for AcDbZombieEntity:

"That's an ancient (R13) name for a proxy object."

Not to be confused with AC/DC which was a zombie-like rock band.

Thread jack

Not to be confused with ACDC which was a zombie-like rock band.

I don't know what band you're thinking of but there's nothing zombie-like about the still vibrant Aussie band AC/DC.
