It is not working

Can you give a little more info on what's happening instead of just "It is not working"? What exactly isn't working for you, the FLATTEN command? Or the link to the other routine that was posted?

Try this...

Command: move

Select objects: all

19 found

Select objects:

Specify base point or [Displacement] : 0,0,0

Specify second point or : 0,0,1e99

Command: move

Select objects: p

19 found

Select objects:

Specify base point or [Displacement] : 0,0,0

Specify second point or : 0,0,-1e99

Hey lpseifert I went searching through the help file regarding those fancy coordinate entries and I couldn't find exactly what you typed and what it meant. Can you give an explanation of what you typed, why, and how it effects the objects? I'm not understanding the "1e99" part.

Under Units, it's Scientific (exponential notation)

1e99 means 1 times 10 to the 99th power (very large number)

I think....

since these numbers are beyond acad's ability to process accurately, acad sees them as the largest number that can be processed. So the Z value + the displacement value of 1e99 essentially equals 1e99. It may have something to do with acad's precision only being 16 decimal spaces.

I would imagine that some one else has a better/more accurate explanation. I learned this trick from CAB, maybe he knows.

arunz: The last viable post in this thread was three years ago. Why don't you go back to your most recent thread and continue the discussion there.

FYI - The last time the forum member you are trying to address was on CADTutor was December, 2012. It's almost 18 months later.
