  1. Hello, Where I work we use a 0.25 arc length min and max. Whenever I get into a revision drawing for the first time, I am always having to resize the arc length no matter what. Why is this not something that can remain constant? I have to specify it on every sheet I work in. Is there a way to globally change this and have it be set every time? Is this something that the prototype drawing needs changed? If so, what is it?
  2. I work on my own, and only on the one machine. I have no need to access my work from anywhere else. I have this uneasy feeling that when I click on the "Floppy Disc" icon my work goes whizzing off into cyberspace. That makes me uneasy! Call me old-fashioned. Call me a dinosaur. Call me a Luddite if you will! I just don't feel happy sending my work off to places unknown and unseen in the clutches of persons unknown and unknowable. How can I ensure that my work stays on my machine and only on my machine?
  3. Hi there, I am making revision clouds on some record drawings. They come out all peachy, but when I save the file and reopen it, all of the wonderful little clouds change to jagged straight lines. Can anyone offer a solution? Thanks, Brian

    Virtualizing AutoCAD?

Does anyone have experience virtualizing AutoCAD workstations? We have ~10 copies of various versions of AutoCAD, including AutoCAD LT 2006 and AutoCAD ADT 2007. I think it would be nice to install each of them in virtual machine guests on a super computer so that they can be accessed from thin workstations via VRDP or VNC (see: Sun's VirtualBox). What are the issues with this? Obviously there needs to be enough CPU and RAM on the host computer, but what about AutoCAD's video card needs? Do you think I could serve ~10 simultaneous instances of AutoCAD using a computer with a sweet CPU and video card?
