  1. I've updated the company templates to work with sheet sets. I've tried on another PC in the office and the same thing happens. This happens most of the time when I cannot edit the details of the sheet set, rename or import layouts. We are connected to a server and our speed is 1Gb to it. I've also tinkered with the SSMPOLLTIME command but no luck. Any possible solutions would be great, thanks.
  2. I've discovered the joys of sheet set manager. I recently found out that I can make a table of contents using it that will update as I add sheets. However, with larger plan sets I would like to list the sheet type and a page range (see example) instead of listing every sheet in the sub set. Is this even possible? example: Plan & Profile C100-C120
  3. I've been searching for an answer to this question: What if any is the advantage of placing fields in Block attributes Verses placing the fields in Mtext for the same purpose( think title bock info and numbering)? My initial thought is that it's just two ways to skin the same cat. HOWEVER...... I've been tasked with setting up the company drafting standards and will be working extensively with Sheet Set Manager as part of the stream line process. I work in the Civil/Survey world so the job folder tend to has several moving parts.
  4. The problem we are having is drawings "automatically" switching to Read-Only when other users open the same drawing using the Sheet Set Manager. We've been using the Sheet Set Manager, in the same way, with the same amount of users, for years. The problem has only occurred recently. Here's the problem: User 1 will open drawing "A" thru the Sheet Set Manager. User 1 is now in drawing "A" with no problems. Let's say about an hour later, while User 1 still has drawing "A" open, User 2 will open drawing "A" thru the Sheet Manager (User 2 should expect to see a window message saying that drawing "A" is in use and would you like to open it as a "Read-Only"). What then happens is the "glitch".... User 2 does not get any message, and will end up opening drawing "A" as if no other user has it open (even though User 1 does in fact have it open). User 1 (who has had drawing "A" open the entire time) will automatically switch to Read-Only???? And therefore will not be able to save the drawing. Even after User 1 closes drawing "A". Anyone know what the problem is? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jeremy
  5. Hello, My name is Ben and I am currently working in an architectural/engineering firm. I have recently learned about Sheetset Manager and I was able to input my custom sheetset. What I am trying to do is create a custom sheetset template that will have ALL my sheets embedded, that way all my notes, details and sheets will always be ready. I would just need to update some text and details from time to time. These ar the steps that I have taken Created a new sheetset and called it Sheetset Template In this sheetset template, I created all my sheets and inserted notes/details. At this point I thought all I would need to do is copy the sheetset file and all by sheets would get copied too, but that was not the case, just the sheetset file was copied and I have to create all the sheets again... Is there something I am missing here? I am sure Autocad has a really easy way of doing this but I cant figure it out :/ Ben
  6. I'm in the process of moving 100+ dwg files physically, but cannot figure out how to update the drawing locations w/o recreating a Pre-Existing fully populated (names, drawing numbers, etc.) SheetSet. Here's what I want to do: Move dwg files from one location to another & update the new physical location (Expected/Found/Relative/Full/UNC Path) in a copy of an existing dst. I've tried moving the files, then updating the Expected Path from within the SSM, but this works on a file to file basis, and takes a long time to perform on a 100+ drawing SheetSet. I've tried using SSMPropEditor, but for some reason, the changes do not stick. The only way that I've found to accomplish this is to use the Archive function (as a folder instead of a ZIP file) from within SSM, but there has to be an easier way to do this... Thanks in advance, and have an excellent day! BTW: I'm using ACAD 2010 on a Core i5 XP machine.
