Macromedia Dreamweaver is a very popular application. In fact, for many people, Dreamweaver is the only web design tool worth using. The available on-line resources for Dreamweaver reflect this popularity. There are lots of free tutorials available and these are being improved and added to all the time. Dreamweaver Tutorial - Barnard College
Superb set of tutorials. Everything you need to know to get going with Dreamweaver is set out hear in a clear and logical manner. Tutorials cover such topics as Creating a new Web and overviews of the interface such as Getting Around. Recommended.

Excellent tutorials for both DW4 and MX. The tutorials are listed by category and are well laid out and very clear.

iBoost Dreamweaver Tutorial
Another excellent selection of tutorials designed for the beginner. There's lots of stuff here including the Rollover Wizard, Site Management etc. Each tutorial is divided into a number of sections and they are all very well done.

KCL Dreamweaver Tutorial Home Page
These tutorials by Kings College London are also a series for beginners. The tutorials are all in pdf format so you need to download them but they can then be printed or read off-line.

This tutorial is designed for older versions of Dreamweaver but there is still some good information here.

These tutorials are delivered as viewlets, sort of animated "how-to" movies. There's a good selection here but mainly designed for the beginner.

Excellent introductory walk-through and tutorial from Webmonkey. This is an ideal overview for beginners.

WebZone 2k - Dreamweaver Tutorials
Great set of tutorials for beginners including lots of useful tips that get you to think about your site before you start building. Very Good.

Book Recommendations

The Dreamweaver Bible by Joseph Lowery. While this book is perhaps not designed for the absolute beginner, it does cover a lot of basic topics. It is very well written, clear and logical. Many topics are covered in great detail. It is not a tutorial book as such but provides a superb reference. It's a book you can dip into when you need specific advice or information. The Dreamweaver Bible is available from Amazon.co.uk for £23.39 and comes highly recommended.
