1. I have a LISP file that inserts a block. While inserting the block the user must pick the insertion point, and a rotation point, which gets stored as a local variable so that another block can be inserted in exactly the same place, at the same angle. Does anyone know if there is a way to allow the first block to be visible while inserting so the user can see the rotation angle? Also, is there a way to make the lisp follow whether Ortho is enabled? Thanks for your help!

Blocks?

hi i use autocad 2011 i need to create some lighting bloks and put them in some library to use in some porject and also export it to other pc as well can you please let me know how can i create library? thans
3. I have a master drawing from which I create smaller, detail-view type drawings. When I copy from the master to create the smaller drawing, several of the blocks (and it's always the same ones) turn invisible. This means, with every new drawing I create, I have to re-insert these blocks to make them reappear. What I mean is that I simply use the insert command, select the block I need to insert, click 'specify on-screen' and click 'ok.' Then without actually placing the block anywhere, I just hit escape and all the blocks of that type reappear. Further, if I move the blocks once they've been re-inserted, they will sometimes go invisible again and I'll have to once again insert that block. And let me explain that by 'invisible' I don't mean that the block has been deleted or the layer is off. The object is there there and can be manipulated. But it virtually disappears from view: it looks like a faint shadow. I'm using autoCAD 2005, but others in my office with different versions encounter the same problem. Any ideas on how to prevent this? It would save some time and annoyance in the long run. Thanks

Grouping/Trimming Blocks

I am new to AutoCAD from another CAD software (DynaScape). I am a landscape architect and I am wanting to combine multiple blocks (ie: shrubs, trees, etc) and then trim any overlapping lines/plines. Any help on creating and editing these blocks on AutoCAD MAC would be most helpful!
5. Hi, I'm having some trouble in AutoCAD LT 2009 with block files. I need the blocks I create to be available to every drawing I create, but somehow, I'm doing something wrong because I can only access them from the drawing I created them in. What am I doing wrong?
6. Hi there We need to change +/- 100 symbol drawings we use in P&ID because wa adapt them to new European standard. Changes of all tehse drawings (symbols) has been done and now I want to open an existing P&ID drawing and change all the existing block definitions to the new symbols. can anyone tell me how to do this without doing it for each separate symbol ? thx in advance
7. Hello; I am having trouble with blocks that I am not using anymore in my file. I have inserted blocks from other files using design center, dragging it to my new file. In my new file I exploded the blocks. It doesn´t let me purge it, and it still appears in the design center of my new file, eventhough it is not in the file any more, since I exploded it. I have tons of blocks that I can not purge, and the size of my file is huge. I have been using design center because copy and pasting was giving me trouble because of some ".dot block duplicated" alert, and was taking a lot of time for pasting. thanks for any help..

Blocks Replace

Hi to everybody, Is there a way to modify the tools blocks replace available in Autocad Express Tools ?. I try to explain better : - The express tools blocks replaces "all" blocks inside the dwg comparing the name. - I would like to change only selected ones ? Is there a way to have access to express tools blocks replace "macro" and starting from that create another only for replace the selected one ?. Somebody think that could be easier create complete new tools for my issue ? Many thanks for all your support
9. hello to every one, I was looking for a way to make a block that would trim any line that would go thru it. For example if i have a block of a circle and it has many lines connecting to it at various angles, Is there a way to have the lines automatically trim? I found this Article but I am confused of how it would work with a circle. http://www.afralisp.net/archive/lispa/lisp52.htm
10. Hi guys, I found a new website of a free autocad block library. It looks promising. You can drag and drop the blocks with idrop directly from the internet in the drawing. Check it out: http://www.acad-blocks.com I hope you will like it like me. Greetings, Rob
11. I have a whole lot of U-Bolts that I need to make in to Dynamic Blocks - I need to just add a stretch parameter so the nuts can be moved up and down according to plate thickness. I've done about 15 so far, quite a few left - then I wondered if it was possible to match properties of one completed dynamic block, to one non-dynamic block? Thanks.
12. Y'all, I'm coming back to AutoCAD2010 after a 4 years of using Vectorworks and am trying to make sense of Blocks, which I am assuming have the same(ish) properties as Vectorworks symbols. Specifically I would like to know how to have a single block that lives in a "root" file that is referenced and "live" in multiple files. i.e, 1 site boundary block that can be referenced into multiple files and then updated accross all the files it is referenced into by editing the original site boundary block in the "root" file. Is this possible? Is it called some other kind of block? Cheers, Z
13. I created an action macro to do the following: 1) Select all objects 2) Change the colour to "140" I saved it as "ActMacro001" I needed to apply this macro to heaps of files, and used the following batch process lisp (It applies ActMacro001 to files A.DWG, B.DWG, C.DWG etc): (defun C:BATCH(/ dwgs scr-name lsp-name) (setq dwgs '("C:/A.DWG" "C:/B.DWG" "C:/C.DWG" "C:/D.DWG") scr-name "c:/tmp.scr" lsp-name "c:/batch.lsp" ) (create-script scr-name dwgs lsp-name "(ChangeColour)" T) (command "_.SCRIPT" scr-name) (vl-file-delete scr-name) (princ) ) (defun ChangeColour() (command "ActMacro001") ) (defun create-script(scr dwgs lsp cmd save / f dwg) (setq f (open scr "w")) (foreach dwg dwgs (progn (write-line (strcat "_.OPEN \"" dwg "\"") f ) (write-line (strcat "(load \"" lsp "\")") f ) (write-line cmd f) (if save (write-line "_.QSAVE" f) ) (write-line "_.CLOSE" f) ) ) (close f) (princ) ) I have discovered now that some of the drawings which had the macro applied had blocks. All elements aside from the blocks were changed to colour 140. Now I want to improve my macro, or lisp routine, such that all elements within blocks are changed to colour 140, along with non block elements. Is there a way to automate the changing of block definitions with repect to nested object colour?? Would greatly appreciate some insight on this problem.
14. Does anyone know of a way to do an ANNORESET on annotative attributes within a non-annotative block? The command doesn't recognize the annotative objects in the block... Thanks
15. I'm currently working on a script to (semi) automise drawing rail constructions. This is going fine, except for one very odd issue. I'm quite a beginner, so please bear with me. I have to insert a block with an attribute. Since I want to avoid using ent* commands, I wrote the script using (command "INSERT" blockname coordinates "" "" "" attributevalue). At home this worked, yet at work the lisp engine treats the 'attributevalue' as a new command. Is there an AutoCAD variable or something else that determines the definition of attributes in the insert command? Both AutoCAD versions are 2010 vanilla, except for some heavy third party scripts and programs for work, which I can't and don't want to disable.
