  1. Hi all - I don't know what happened, but I was CADDing along and now when I double click a hatch, it invokes what I think is the Quick Properties, not the Hatch Edit command. I can still type the Alias "he" and get to it, but I'm used to double clicking and don't see what change. I looked in the CUI, and under Double Click Actions>Hatch, the Hatch Edit command is listed. What gives? THANKS to the community at large, as always.
  2. Ok, in CUI I have created a custom workspace and brought in 4 partial customization files. Created the Tabs and have created the Panels in each of the Tabs. All works well. I am now editing the panel button macros so that when a pump or a valve is chosen, its respective layer automatically changes. All is good so far. Now I need to duplicate what I have done on another station without changing 45 macros again. I know I can export the environment and have it import on the other station, that works fine. I only want to copy those files I have edited and move them to the other station. Any thoughts are welcome. This applies to those who are working with more than one workstation wanting to keep the same system capabilities the same on all. Thanks!
  3. Hi all, I've been using AutoCAD for about 15 years, so I'm pretty familiar w/ most of it's ins and outs. I've been looking for a little faster way of changing the current layer I've on to another way. I've customized the "mouse bottons" in the CUI to "Ctrl+Click" to intialize the "Make Object's Layer Current" command. However, I was wondering if there is a way to make it work more like Photoshop. In Photoshop, when you are using the paint bucket tool and you want to change your color to another color that is already in the picture, you press "Alt+Left Click" to select the color, and when you release the "Alt" button it goes back to the paint bucket and you just color the item you want that color. Similarly, I would like to make AutoCAD do this by using "Ctrl+Left CLick" at any point to change to the layer I'm on to a layer that I select, with out actually intiallizing a command. i could of started a line command or no command, press "Ctrl" and click on the object that I want my current layer switched to and it's done. Hope this is not too confusing. If there's a way to do it in the CUI, I'm ok with that, or even a LISP would work too. THanks for your help. Mike
  4. Hi, I'm just transitioning from PC (AutoCAD 2007) to MAC (AutoCAD 2011) and now fumbling my way through setting up all my customizations again. For the life of me, I can not work out how to customize Short Cut keys! On PC in the CUI box you drag and drop the relevant command up above to the CUI window ontop the little shortcut keys icon then, set your new Access Keys in the box on the right, then bingo! EASY. But on MAC, does this even exist??? I am completely self taught on CAD, only work in 2D, and only use a fraction of its full capabilities. Admittedly, I never have had to write LISP's, or do any text based coding/customization. The simple shortcuts I am trying to achieve are: MOVE - Shift + V ROTATE - Shift + R TRIM - Shift + T FILLET - Shift + F STRETCH - Shift + G Match Properties - Shift + 4 Layer Isolate - Shift + 3 Close - Crtl + W ANY help or a working example of how to achieve this would be HUGELY appreciated! Thank you, Matt
  5. Hi Guys I have recently bought autocad 2012 for mac after years on 2006 on windows. I have lots of custom blocks that I have made over the years and want to transfer them to my mac version. On previous versions it used to be simple customize/transfer tab/ then open. This version does not appear so simple! If someone could help it would be much appreciated!! Thanks!!
  6. Hi, I want to know if I can get a compacted guide into quickly and effectively save all my autocad settings in a computer to be used elsewhere. My personal settings include: 1. alias 2. autolisp that are loaded in the cui 3. an escape autolisp that is part of the right click context edit menu 4. re-arrangement of short cut menu (i.e addition of dimension linear, dimension aligned, plot) 5. new menu with new macros 6. option profiles 7. plot styles 8. hatches 9. libraries of block 10. palette 11. workspace I know the list is long and can be longer and most of the time as I switch from one computer to another, there is the same repetitive task of copying, resettings and so on. Are there any effecitve way to transform an autocad post with all my settings at once, that effectively save all the settings and the files and the blocks and templates and effectively load all of them onto a new working post. Somewhere it looks impossible, at least in its totality but who knows this may be possible. Regards, Nicolas.
  7. Dear CAD programmers, As you know when commands called from AutoLISP code, dialog boxes are suppressed and the command prompts for data entry from command line. Some of these commads for instances are "LAYER", "ARRAY", "BLOCK", "BOUNDARY", "PLOT", etc. Some of these commands with dual behaviuor, has different results, one of them is "CUILOAD". Could any one show a way to load a customization group into AutoCAD menus, and force it to view all its menus (Toolbars, Menus, Ribbons)? Sorry if I am not totally clear... Indeed English is my third language (after Persian and Azeri).
  8. I've got three docked palettes on the right of my screen (Properties, Sheet Set, and Xref) and I'm trying to set their heights. If I just drag them to the size I want they do not keep this size when I re-open Autocad, or when I close all files (so that all the palettes but Sheet Set close) and then open a new one. In either case when the UI loads again the palettes seem to negotiate amongst themselves what sizes they want to be. Once they do this they don't change again, but they won't keep the size I set. I have tried setting the heights in CUI but the palettes either don't respond, or resize as above, sometimes even changing order, and then don't respond further. I tried setting the heights to 0, which is supposed to be "do not change" but that doesn't work either. I tried saving my workspace after dragging them to size, but they still don't stay. If I set the heights to 0 in CUI, drag them to size, save the workspace, and then close all files and open one as above they still change size. So how do I get them to stay? Why don't they respond to the height setting in CUI?
  9. Hi y'all, I would like to modify or replace all the original command like Text, MText, Hatch, all Dimension, Leaders, etc... is it possible to modify them so that when i type, for exemple "MT" on the command prompt, its automaticaly go on the good layers? Thanks!
  10. Hi I have created some cuix files that i want to load automatically when a user boots autocad. for this i have created a acad.lsp file in one of my search/support directories with the following code and therefore when i start cad it loads the menu file. ^C^C^P(command "menuunload" "CUSTOMMENU" "_.menuload" "CUSTOMMENU.cuix") Great apart from it doesnt appear. The command line reads: "Customization file loaded successfully. Customization Group: CUSTOMMENU" so its loaded and if i go to either cuiload or QUICKCUI i can see it and edit /unload it. The only ways i can get it to appear are by unloading it and reloading it using cuiload in which case it works fine until i reboot autocad as my script unloads it. or by changing my workspace to 2d and them back to classic and it appears. My perfect solution would be that my script runs everytime autocad launches so that any updates made to the cuix file automatically update in autocad without having to lunload and load. Thanks in advance for any help here and happy new year to all! Ben
  11. Afternoon. I've got a little problem trying to make a menu command to load a partial customisation file. I've created ths macro: ^C^C_filedia;0;menuload;N:/CAD/2D/blahblahblah.cuix;filedia;1; ...which seems to run fine and loads the CUI, but the popdown menu defined herein will not display on the menubar. I've also tried the same thing in LiSP: (command "filedia" "0" "menuload" "N:/CAD/2D/blahblahblah.cuix" "filedia" "1") ...but with the same result. When typing the commands in manually one-by-one it displays fine. It's just when I try to automate it it fails. Does anybody have any bright ideas how to fix this ? Cheers. Rob.

  14. I have 3 machines running LDD 2006. 2 do not have Profiles or Cross sections as a menu option. 1) Why? 2) can I just copy over the menu files without adversely affecting these machines and their license managers. 3) do I need to reinstall? thanx in advance The Goob.
  15. Hello everyone. Ive been trying to change my osnap shortcuts so 'snap to endpoint = ctrl+e,' 'snap to intersection = ctrl+x' etc... Currently they are set to shift + e and shift + x respectively. When I go into the key input area of a shortcut in the CUI it opens the window for me to input a new shortcut key combination for the command. When I press CTRL nothing is entered into the input box, I even tried using ALT to start off the shortcut and that did not work either. The only key that works for shortcut combinations is SHIFT. Which doesn't work anyway, because obviously when Im in my drawing and press SHIFT + (letter) it just gives me a capital letter in the command bar which does nothing for me. Is there a setting I need to change to be able to use my CTRL and ALT keys in shortcut combinations? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
