    Dimensioning Problem

I am learning Autodesk Inventor and am having trouble adding a certain dimension to a slot to a product I am embedding into a 2D sketch. Attached is a screenshot that portrays the issue I am facing. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
  2. So i have this block that has dimensions within it, and everything looks neat. In editing the block, I add more dimensions and the size is appropriate. However, in dimensioning outside of the block, the figures come out very large. Why is that? Dimension query.dwg
  3. Hi this is my first post and have been using AutoCAD since R14 but actually just noticed this. All layers in there are as exactly as they should be expect a few lines which are on 'LAYER 0' So I've exported the drawing by printing from DWG to PDF. I've tried freezing the Dimensions but I have to freeze 'LAYER 0' to get rid of the ticks therefore freezing my lines also. Is this a bug in the software? Or me? Because its weird way the ticks have to be different then the rest of the dimension. Afterall it would be nice to freeze the Dims with one click and it also took me a while to figure out how to freeze them. But, I always thought the ticks on dimensions belonged to the layer 'Defpoints' but when I export the PDF there is no 'Defpoints' So I exploded the dimension in AutoCAD and the tick does belong to 'LAYER 0' Is there any system Variable to change the layer of them ticks so I don't have the same problem freezing Dimensions.
  4. When dimensionning linear dims using leaders, I can't get the dimtxt to slide from one side of the dim line to the other. The dimtxt only switches side if I place the dimtxt on top or below the dim line. Very weird. Can you help on how to work around this. Please see flickr picture link for a better idea of what I mean. Thanks
  5. A coworker and I are having the same problem with dimensions. For example, we have a polyline that has been dimensioned and then we will either need to trim or break a small portion out. When we trim or break the line the dimensions on that line fly all over the place so we end up needed to re-dimension everything. We have had this problem in AutoCAD 2008, 2010, and 2011. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know of a way to fix it? Maybe we need to change a variable? The polylines have a zero Z-axis and it does not happen everytime we trim or break but enough to become annoying. Our CAD Manager had as try to disassociate the dimension, break the line, and then reassociate it but that didn't help; the dimensions were still shifted around. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
